Name: Roger Duttweiler

What do you coach? Junior Varsity Soccer

How long have you been coaching at Trinity? One year

Do you coach any other sport? Yes, I will be helping Coach Gunn as Assistant Coach for the Girls Varsity Soccer team in the spring.

Have you had any coaching experience other than Trinity? I have coached Varsity Girl’s Soccer, Junior Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Wrestling and Varsity Track and Field at the High School level.

What do you expect from your team this year? I expect my teams to play hard and be competitive. Most of all I expect them to play in a sportsmanlike manner.

What is/are your most memorable coaching moments? From this years (06/07) Junior Varsity Soccer team, when Jeffrey Lorenz scored a hat trick in the second half of a game.

What do you enjoy about coaching? The interaction with the players and the high of competition are the best things about coaching.


Name: Bob Gunn

Coach of: Varsity Soccer (Fall and Spring)

How long have you been coaching at Trinity? 12 years

Do you coach any teams besides the soccer teams?  If so, which teams?

Have coached the Golf team, Varsity and JV Boys basketball

Have you had any coaching experience other than at Trinity? Yes

30 years, Golf, Basketball, Hockey, and Baseball

What do you expect from your team this year?

Varsity Fall soccer should have a good year. We have a number of returning players and a good mix of new players with talent.

What is your most memorable coaching moment?

Several come to mind. The first would be coaching the 1998 Golf team to the SCISAA Class “AA” State Championship, the first championship team in Trinity history. The second would be the 2000 Boys Varsity Soccer “AA-AAA” Championship game with Beaufort Academy.  We lost 2-1, but this game marked the arrival of TCS to S.C. high school soccer.

What do you enjoy about coaching?

Working with young people and the lasting relationships I have developed through coaching.


Name: Bob Newman

Coach of: Softball

How long have you been coaching at Trinity? This is my first year

Have you had any coaching experience other than at Trinity?  If so, which school?

Yes, I have been coaching softball for 12 years.  I coached a travel team and I coached at Pee Dee.

What is your most memorable coaching moment? Winning the 18 and under World Series in Atlanta, Ga.

What do you enjoy about coaching? The young ladies that I coach

Where are you from? Pennsylvania

What do you do for a living? I am the Security Director at Carolinas

 


Name: David Rector

What do you coach? JV and Varsity Volleyball

How long have you been coaching at Trinity? 1 year

Do you coach any teams other than volleyball? Yes, JV girl’s basketball; Varsity baseball

Have you had any coaching experience other than Trinity? Yes, I have coach for 4 years. 2 years at Clinton Christian in Maryland where I coached boys soccer and girls basketball; and 2 years at Hilton Head Christian Academy where I coached football, girls and boys basketball, and boys soccer.

What do you expect from your team this year? My expectations are simple. Practice hard and play hard ALL THE TIME! I expect all players to give 100% no matter the circumstances. I don’t base expectations (or goals) on wins and losses.

What is/are your most memorable coaching moments? Last year in Maryland, my varsity girl’s basketball team (29-5) played in the NACA National Tournament in Dayton OH, and won the Division III National Championship defeating the 2004 – 2005 Champions in overtime. During the 5 day tournament with beat 2 undefeated teams.

What do you enjoy about coaching? I enjoy the opportunity to work with kids on everyday basics. My goal is to help each individual succeed in and out of athletics.

Do you coach any team besides cross country? No

Have you had any coaching experience other than Trinity?

1984-1986 Head Cross Country Coach, Assistant Track & Field Coach, University of New Mexico

1987-1988 Assistant Cross Country Coach, University of California at Berkeley

What is your most memorable coaching moment?

Developing a nationally ranked cross country program at UNM. Coaching a cross country All American at UNM. Coaching several athletes to become National Qualifiers/Olympic Trial Qualifiers.

What do you enjoy about coaching?

I really enjoy working with the student-athletes and seeing them improve.
