Welcome Welcome to Trinity
Collegiate School. We are pleased that you are interested in the
opportunities available to your child at Trinity Collegiate School.
Trinity Collegiate
School is distinguished by the achievements of our students and is
proud to offer the best college preparatory program in the Pee Dee
rooted in the faith, values, and caring of the Judeo-Christian
tradition. Consistent acceptances into well reputed colleges and
universities speak well for the preparation our students receive.
Trinity Collegiate School also acknowledges that in addition to
acquiring a strong academic background, students must also engage in
extracurricular activities to gain a well balanced perspective on
life. To help our students achieve this balance, we offer many clubs
and organizations in which students may become actively involved, plus
16 varsity sports. Trinity Collegiate School also requires that all
students participate in community service activities each year. We
believe that involvement in such programs is an important component of
leadership development and personal growth. In the end, when
students graduate from Trinity Collegiate School, they are ready to
enter into the next phase of their lives with confidence as
responsible young adults. We invite you to visit
us to learn more about how Trinity Collegiate School may help your
child achieve success in school and life. You may call our Director of
Admissions, Mrs. Donna Grubb at (843) 395-9124 or email her at
dgrubb@tcstitans.org to
set up an appointment for a personal tour of our campus. Please feel
free to call us with any additional questions or concerns you may
have.
The Admissions Process All
candidates are considered with care. The Admissions Committee attempts
to make a fair decision in every case, considering not only what our
school can offer each candidate, but also what contributions the
candidate can make to the Trinity Collegiate School community. We seek
students who will be a good match for our school in order for each
child to have a rewarding and successful experience. Admission
decisions are individually determined and are based upon academic
records, ability and achievement test scores, interviews and personal
recommendations. Trinity
Collegiate School values and seeks a diverse student body and admits
students of any gender, race, color, national or ethnic origin to all
the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or
made available to students of the organization. It does not
discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, national or ethnic
origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions
policies, scholarship and loan programs or other
organization-administered programs. • Visits
and Interviews All
prospective students and parents are invited to visit the school to
learn more about the opportunities available. Each student is then
invited to shadow a current student for a full day at Trinity
Collegiate School. During the visit, the prospective student will
accompany the current student to classes. Our admissions staff learns
a great deal by receiving teacher feedback and by observing
prospective students in group situations. The applicant can also help
determine if Trinity Collegiate School will be a good match. •
Application and $50 Application Fee The
application can be downloaded by
clicking here or
through a paper copy included in the admissions packet. •
Confidential Recommendations From Current Teachers This form
can be downloaded by
clicking here or
through a paper copy included in the admissions packet. Teachers
provide us with great insight about individual students. •
Transcripts or Report Cards Once we
receive your application and $50 application fee, we will request the
official transcript from your current school. Past performance is a
strong indicator of future performance. Grades, tardies, absences and
teacher narratives all enable us to see how prospective students have
performed in their past school. • Letter
of Acceptance and Enrollment Contract A letter of
acceptance and a contract for enrollment will be issued to all
prospective students who are offered admission. A $500 non-refundable
tuition down payment and the enrollment contract must be received
within two weeks of the contract offer date to secure your child a
place in that class. •Wait
List
Qualified students who are not initially offered contracts will have
their names placed on a waiting list. Decisions are made on student
qualification and readiness rather than length of time a candidate has
been on the wait list. Each time a place in the class becomes
available, each child from the list will be reconsidered.

Financial Aid
Trinity Collegiate School seeks a diverse student population. In our
efforts to assure quality educational opportunities to all students,
we offer a financial aid program to families that may have financial
constraints. The following information will help you understand the
policy for Financial Aid at Trinity Collegiate School.
If you feel that you may need financial assistance, please see the
Admissions Director, Mrs. Donna Grubb, for the application form or
more information. You may reach her by phone at (843) 395-9124 or by
email at
dgrubb@tcstitans.org.
Financial Aid Policy
Trinity Collegiate School provides need-based financial aid to
qualifying families on a space-available basis. Qualification is
determined by parents submitting a confidential financial report to
the School and Student Service for Financial Aid, an agency of the
National Association of Independent Schools,
www.nais.org/go/sss. This agency
does not fund financial aid grants -- it simply calculates
eligibility.
The following stipulations apply:
• Financial aid grants are usually not provided in grade levels which
have full enrollment of students paying full tuition, and new grants
may be delayed pending determination of which grade levels have spaces
available.
• Returning students in good standing have priority over new
applicants for financial aid.
• The school tries to meet the demonstrated financial need of
applicants; however, all families are expected to pay some tuition and
there is a budgetary limitation on the amount of tuition grants which
can be awarded in any year. Grants do not normally exceed one-half of
the tuition.
• Parents must submit a report to the School and Student Service for
Financial Aid and submit copies of W-2 and 1040 forms to Trinity
Collegiate School each year.
• Student academic records may be made available to institutions
awarding financial aid.
• Financial assistance is need-based only and no athletic or other
merit scholarships are provided.
FAQS
Q. Who can apply for
financial assistance?
A. Any current
student at Trinity Collegiate School and any student applying for
admission to
Trinity Collegiate School.
Q. Will applying for
financial assistance influence the admissions decision?
A. No. Students are
accepted to Trinity Collegiate School based on academic
performance,
standardized test scores, teacher recommendations, and a personal
interview.
Q. How is the
financial assistance award determined?
A. Financial
assistance is based on the difference between the cost of sending a
student to
Trinity Collegiate School (tuition and fees) and the family’s ability
to pay
those expenses.
Schools that subscribe to the NAIS (National Association of
Independent
Schools) and SSS (School and Student Service for Financial Aid) use
the
Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) to help make that
determination.
Q. What is the
process for applying for financial assistance at Trinity Collegiate
School?
A. Here’s how it
works:
1. The
Director of Admissions at Trinity Collegiate School will provide you
with a
printed Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) from SSS. Or,
you can go to
www.nais.org
to complete your PFS online.
2. On
the PFS, you indicate which school should receive your information.
3. The
PFS asks you to supply information such as family size, total income,
savings, investments, indebtedness, medical and dental expenses,
and any
unusual expenses, and other assets such as home equity.
4. Mail
in the completed PFS or submit your PFS online.
5. SSS
analyzes the information on the PFS to estimate your family’s ability
to
contribute to the educational expenses.
6. The
schools will receive the Report of Family Contribution
within two weeks
when
the printed PFS is submitted by mail, and as little as 48 hours when
the
PFS
is completed online.
7. The school uses the results, and any other information it
requires, to make its
financial aid award decision.
8.
Trinity Collegiate School requires you to submit to the Director of
Admissions
a
copy of your current tax return (1040 and schedules) and W2s.
9.
Parents may apply for more than one child on the same form.
Q. Is financial
assistance at Trinity Collegiate School automatically renewed each
year?
A. Trinity Collegiate
School requires families receiving financial assistance to re-apply
each year.
Q. What happens if
there is a change in the family’s financial circumstances?
A. You should
schedule a meeting with the Director of Admissions to discuss the
details
of the
circumstance.
Q. How do
divorced/separated parents apply for financial assistance for their
student?
A. The policy of SSS
and Trinity Collegiate School for determining the financial
assistance for
students is based on the principle that both parents (custodial and
non-custodial)
are responsible for the educational expenses of their children.
Each
parent should
submit the PFS.
Q. Who provides the
funds for the financial assistance grant?
A. SSS does not
provide the funding for the financial assistance grant. Trinity
Collegiate School
offers financial assistance to qualifying families as a tuition
reduction grant.
Q. Will I be
obligated to repay the financial assistance grant?
A. No. There is no
repayment obligation for a financial assistance grant.
Q. Who knows that I
have applied for financial assistance?
A. Trinity Collegiate
School respects the confidential nature of applying for financial
assistance. Only
the Head of School, Director of Admissions, and the Financial
Secretary know
who receives financial assistance.
Q. Where can I find
help if I have more questions?
