2010 Update

We would like to congratulate all of our fall athletes on their accomplishments.  We had approximately 90 students participating in athletics this fall season.  They have all contributed to upholding the TCS tradition with their hard work and dedication.  I also would like to thank all the coaches for all of their hard work this past season.

Congratulations to the Ladies’ Tennis team for beating Beaufort Academy in the first round of the Playoffs.  The ladies finished the year 4-14 after falling short to the #2 seed Carolina Academy in the second round of the playoffs.  Coach Burner noted that the young team showed significant improvement throughout the season.  Great job girls!

Coach McElveen was impressed with the amount of energy and dedication the Cheerleaders have shown this season, with their countless hours of practicing routines and traveling to our away football games.  Also, on several occasions they have been great ambassadors to our school while working with the cheerleaders from visiting schools.  Thank you, girls!

The Football team continues to set school records in only their second season.  Along with a school record for wins (3-7), there have been many impressive individual records set this season.  The Team put up over 250 points in only 11 games.  The season was highlighted with a 46 point effort against Faith Christian Academy.  Great work, guys!

Congratulations to the TCS Swim team on their impressive job at the state meet this year.  Individuals won numerous medals in Augusta on October 2nd.  Despite limited numbers the boys finished 5th and the girls finished 10th in the state.  I encourage more athletes to get involved with the swim team next year.  Keep up the hard work, swim team!

The JV Volleyball squad represented TCS very well this year.  Their play continued to impress as the season progressed.  Their season was highlighted with a tough fought win over Pee Dee Academy.

The Varsity Volleyball team appreciated the many supporters that cheered them on at the Region AA State Championships on October 26th.  After going undefeated in the playoffs, the Ladies fell short to Pee Dee Academy in the State Finals.  The Ladies finished the season 24-4.  Many young ladies set school records this year on their run to a near championship.  Great job, ladies!

The Cross Country Team continued their domination of the region again this season by finishing first in both the Girls and Boys races on October 20th.  At the state competition in Columbia the girls finished 3rd while the boys won their third straight state title.  The boys had 5 runners finish in the top 10, earning them All State Honors.  We also had two young ladies earn All State Honors.  Congratulations to both teams on their continued success!

Congratulations again to all of our athletes and each team.
