Alumni News

Graduates will always be a part of the Trinity Collegiate School family.  We’ve created this web page as an avenue for you to stay connected with the school and with the life-long friendships that were made here. By periodically checking in with this web page, you will not only receive information on alumni events, but you can also see what is new in the lives of other fellow graduates.

We encourage you to share any news, photos or contact information about a Trinity graduate by e-mailing Coach Gunn at:  bgunn@tcstitans.org.

ALUMNI PANEL – January 6th
Juniors will be receiving their class rings at a special ring ceremony at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 6th.  Juniors invite a current student or graduate to present their rings at this ceremony.  Right after the ring ceremony, the alums participate with the Juniors and Seniors in what we call the college panel presentation.  Alumni students speak to the juniors and seniors about the transition to college.  Lunch is provided to all the attendees.  This is for the students alone – no parents or faculty participate in the college panel part of the day’s events.  Alums are being sought to participate.  If you are interested and available to participate in the alumni panel, please contact Mrs. Scannella at 843/395-9124, extension 207 or cscannella@tcstitans.org.

TRINITY ALUM ELECTED TO GLOBAL BOARD
Emily Rogers, a 2006 graduate of Trinity Collegiate School, has been chosen to serve on the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) for the world-wide United Methodist Church. Members of GCFA are elected by the General Conference of the United Methodist Church when it meets every four years. This year the General Conference met in Fort Worth, Texas. The members of GCFA serve through the 2008 – 2012 quadrennium. The 40 members of GCFA were nominated by the United Methodist church’s College of Bishops from around the world.  Members are from all parts of the United States, Europe, Africa and the Philippines.

The 40 members of GCFA have the primary responsibility to oversee the financial life of the general boards and agencies of the United Methodist Church, which includes approximately 11.5 million members around the world. As part of that work it receives, administers, and disburses all money contributed by local congregations to the general funds of the church, develops and proposes a budget for the general funds of the church which it presents to General Conference every four years, and recommends to General Conference the formulas by which all apportionments to the annual conferences are determined.  GCFA normally meets twice each year to conduct its work and to oversee the work of the paid staff as it administers a budget in excess of $325,000,000 over the four years of this quadrennium.

Emily will serve on the Legislation and Property Services Sub-Committees. She will also serve as a member of the South Carolina United Methodist Conference Council on Finance and Administration and participate in its work to oversee the finances of the South Carolina Annual Conference. She is a Junior at The University of South Carolina.  11-6-8
