Parent Guild Volunteer Choices 2010-2011

These are some of the activities and programs that are supported by the Parent Guild.
We welcome your participation in either a leadership role or as a committee member.  Thank you!

Executive Committee:
President – Serves as presiding officer of the Parent Guild for one year.
Vice-president – Serves as vice-president one year, president the following year;                     assists president as needed.
Secretary – Prepares and keeps minutes of all Parent Guild meetings; notifies                  
                 board members of meetings and special events.
Treasurer – Handles all funds of the Parent Guild; manages bank accounts; pays
                 bills; prepares financial statements; assists with budget preparation.


Standing Committees 
Hospitality (Chair or Co-chairs, volunteers) – Plans and serves refreshments/decorations or services for school functions.  Works with Headmaster, Development Office and/or Admissions Office to determine dates, other details.  

Faculty and Staff Support (Chair or Co-chairs, volunteers) – Responsible for planning and supervising Staff Luncheon at beginning of year, monthly staff appreciations, annual staff appreciation week events at end of school year, and other activities deemed appropriate.

Grade Representative – Coordinates and implements all activities involving grade representatives and students.  Coordinator and grade representatives for each class needed

Titan Trot (Chair or Co-chairs, volunteers) – Plans and coordinates this event – 5KRun/Walk on Cross-Country Course.  Works closely with Development Office, Cross-Country Coach and committee.

Box Tops for Education (Chair) – responsible for distributing information, collecting Box Tops (twice/year), and preparing reports for Box Tops.

Golf Tournament (Chair or Co-chairs, volunteers) – This annual fall event is one of our main fundraisers.   Works closely with Development Office and committee and is responsible for all planning and arrangements.

School Store (Chair or Co-chair) – Directs the operation of the school store, including special sales like registration day, Back to School Nights, and Home athletic games. Keeps sample display and order forms current.  Maintains and orders inventory as appropriate.

United Scrip (Chair) –  responsible for coordination and implementation of United Scrip Gift Card program including all order processing and distribution.

Family Fun Event  (Chair or Co-chairs, volunteers) –responsible for planning and implementing family fun event during school year to bolster family community spirit.
